Grandma's Apple Crisp (w/a little update from ME) .

Sure it takes time to peel and slice the apples, but your family will love this with vanilla ice cream (or cinnamon)

Ingredients
  • 6-8 sliced, peeled apples -- for a 7 x 10
  • 2-3 T cinnamon sugar
  • Topping:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c flour (I use ½ c. whole wheat flour and ½ c. rolled oats instead)
  • 1 c brown sugar (I've done it with less sugar by up to half)
  • ½ t. cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 450
  2. Fill a glass baking dish with sliced, peeled apples
  3. Dust with cinnamon sugar
  4. Pulse topping in food processor and pat over the top of the apples.
  5. Bake for 15 min at 450, reduce heat to 375 and bake til apples are soft and topping is brown (up to 20 minutes)
  6. Enjoy a la mode with vanilla ice cream.
